Echoing the UAE Government’s generous support extended to the Philippines, under the guidance of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department of the Government of Dubai and in partnership with Dubai Charity Association, UAE Exchange, a leading global remittance and foreign exchange company, donated 5 million Philippine Pesos in support of the United Nations World Food Programme’s (WFP) efforts to assist those devastated by Super Typhoon Haiyan. Thousands of people lost their lives and hundreds of thousands were left homeless, when Haiyan hit the Philippines on 8th November.
This is the second time that UAE Exchange is joining hands with WFP. The two organisations launched their partnership for Ramadan this year with a contribution aimed at providing daily meals to underprivileged school children in Africa.
