Low wages, salary disbursal irregularities, accommodation problems and various other issues combined with a lack of knowledge of the laws of the land, have turned the dreams of many Indian blue-collared workers living abroad into a nightmare.
In a strong step towards empowering the hapless Indian expatriates, who go through such ordeals, UAE Exchange, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, along with Indian Workers’ Resource Center (IWRC), conducted awareness classes and counseling sessions on legal, financial and personal issues on 1st July, 2011. The programme conducted under the aegis of Embassy of India, was held at PMRG Village 2 in China Town, Mafraq, Bani Yas Abu Dhabi with over 400 people participating and sharing their grievances with the experts.
